This stairway is largely a material and aesthetic exploration.Sherburne wanted to design something that integrated well with the overall visual appeal of the Coop Himel(b)lau design. He created stairs that would use similar materials and architectural elements as the building itself. He was also interested in exploring the rendering capabilities of the Rhinoceros modeling program and how to integrate a design into its point of reference in a seamless manner.
